In just 10 years, WordPress has become the most dominant CMS on the web powering nearly 1 out of every 5 sites. Along with this growth, hundreds of a theme companies have emerged providing templates for everything from businesses to portfolios to magazines to personal blogs to clones of popular websites such as Pinterest, Yelp, Groupon, and many more.
Until now, these themes have been scattered throughout the web residing on more than 300 individual websites making finding the perfect theme difficult to say the least. However, a couple of weeks ago, a new website has changed all of that. PressCastle.com has compiled nearly every up to date WordPress theme on the web, categorized them, and made them easily searchable. So far, they have collected an incredible 13,000 themes and are adding new ones every week.
At first, searching through 13,000+ themes seems daunting, but the site has built in search filters to help make the process quick and simple! The search filters allow visitors to filter through themes based on layout, color, purchase option (part of a theme club, a standalone, or free), and compatibility with WPMU and some of the most popular WP plugins such as Woocommerce, BuddyPress, bbPress, and a few others. Of course, if you want to shortcut the process, you can use the advanced search as well. Here's a snapshot of that:
This site will be a great asset to the WordPress community as PressCastle is committed to providing the most comprehensive and accurate database of WP themes online. In addition to adding new themes and removing old ones, they are constantly filtering through themes making sure that prices, features, and links stay up to date. They have also made it incredibly simple for the community to get involved and give feedback. The community can report broken theme links, miscategorizations, or outdated themes which will further help the site stay accurate.
As you can see, this is an incredibly helpful site, and I think it is one of the most helpful sites to come to the WordPress community. I highly recommend that you go and check it out.
